Hitchhikers Make Doc about Natural Pools in Iceland

Two friends, Harpa Fönn Sigurjónsdóttir and Helga Sveinsdóttir, traveled around the country as hitchhikers last summer with the goal of bathing in as many natural hot springs as possible. They are now making a documentary about their trip.

“Preparation for the project began around last Christmas when we stumbled across the book Heitar laugar á Íslandi [“Hot pools in Iceland”]. We have both traveled a lot abroad but until now we had neglected traveling around our own country, Iceland,” Sigurjónsdóttir told Fréttabladid.

“We wanted to travel around the country by hitchhiking and decided to combine the two things: become hitchhikers and visit as many of the country’s natural pools while we were at it,” she added.

Eftirvinnsla // Post production

Eftirvinnsla myndarinnar er nú í fullum gangi. Síðustu vikur hafa farið í að færa efnið af myndavélum á tölvutækt form, fara yfir klippurnar, fá klippara til að skoða efnið og svo fram eftir götunum, allt með aðstoð þess frábæra teymis er hefur verið að aðstoða okkur við gerð þessarar myndar. Við erum orðnar ansi spenntar eftir að hafa skoðað allt efnið. Nú bíðum við spenntar eftir að sjá fyrsta afrakstur klippara. Við vonum að þið, lesendur góðir, bíðið einnig spennt..! Takk fyrir að fylgjast með okkur og sýna verkefninu ómældan áhuga!

The post production of the documentary is now in process. In last few weeks we've been transfering the clips from the cameras to a computer, reviewing the clips, getting an editor to have a look at it with us etc, all with the assistance of the great team of people that have been assisting us with making this project come to live. We got really excited to see all the good clips we have. Now, there's the thrilling wait to see the first rough cuts from our editor. We truly hope that you, our beloved readers, are getting excited as well..! Thank you all for following our project in making!
